Tell us about the journey that led you to InMobi
After finishing my master’s degree in marketing management from Grenoble Ecole De Management, France, I went on to start my corporate journey in the Filipino manufacturing industry before eventually moving back to South Korea. There I gained invaluable experience in the IT industry as a Customer Success Manager at Zendesk, a SaaS company. I loved the moments when upselling met customers' needs. It was during this time that I chanced upon InMobi's search for a Customer Success Manager in South Korea. Given the gigantic market size of ad tech and the potential growth of InMobi, I was drawn to the opportunity to contribute to InMobi’s success and take on new challenges.
What are the roles and responsibilities that come with your current role?
InMobi being in its growing phase in South Korea, we have a small team here. This gives me the opportunity to take on responsibilities that go beyond my job title and contribute towards the organization’s growth in the region in a broader capacity. As a customer success manager, my primary responsibility is to ensure that our existing publishers, specifically in South Korea, optimize their monetization. I also actively seek out new publishers as part of my business development duties.
What got you excited about the prospect of joining InMobi?
In my initial conversations, two things stood out to me and ultimately became the reason that I wanted to be a part of InMobi – the people and the level of responsibilities InMobi offered. During the interview process, I was impressed by the friendliness of the InMobians who I was supposed to work with. The emphasis on personality and cultural fit as key factors in the hiring process caught my attention. Additionally, the high level of responsibilities that InMobi was ready to entrust me with was appealing and I consider it to be one of the most important aspects of my decision to join the company.
Tell us about your recruitment journey and experience
My recruitment experience with the company was truly exceptional and one of the best I have had so far. Throughout the journey, the interviewers went to great lengths to ensure that I felt comfortable and that the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly. I was struck by how the interview felt more like a conversation with friends than a formal process.
I was also impressed by InMobi's commitment to conducting a fair and transparent recruitment process. At no point did I feel that I was being offered anything less than what I deserved. Moreover, the recruiter offered me the opportunity to have additional meetings with any of the interviewers, which demonstrated their willingness to provide a comprehensive evaluation of my candidacy. This extra effort on their part made me feel valued as a potential employee and further cemented my positive impression of the company.
Overall, my recruitment journey with InMobi was a very positive experience that left a lasting impression on me.
What do you enjoy most about working at InMobi?
One of the things I enjoy most about working at InMobi is the company culture of encouraging experimentation and embracing new ideas. My manager has always been supportive and has never placed any limitations on my capabilities. This has allowed me to try out new strategies and ideas while working with a great degree of freedom and autonomy.
Do you have any tips or advice for aspiring InMobians?
I would say, embrace change and approach it as an opportunity for growth and development. Working with a global team that is spread across regions and is in its nascent stage in South Korea will come with certain challenges. Still, with the right mindset, any challenge can become an opportunity to excel and achieve success.
What are some things you enjoy in your life outside of work?
Outside of work, I lead a dynamic and active lifestyle. I have a deep passion for sports and that has been an integral part of my life since my teenage years. Archery, rugby, and ice hockey are my particular favorites.
