From their beginning, TapNation knew that monetizing through ads was the best bet. To ensure their monetization stack runs smoothly, they use AppLovin’s MAX as their mediation layer. In 2021, TapNation elected to fully embrace header bidding, abandoning the hybrid waterfall-header bidding system they used previously. Beginning the second half of 2020, TapNation integrated with InMobi through MAX. They were primarily interested in monetizing with InMobi through banner ads, but they also opened up additional formats like rewarded video and interstitials.

Results

The partnership between TapNation and InMobi has been enormously successful, especially as TapNation began embracing header bidding in 2021. Between Q4 2020 and Q1 2021, TapNation saw an over 104% increase in ad revenue from InMobi, with daily revenues growing by more than 17x in this period. And, 17% of all ad revenue TapNation received through banner ads came from InMobi.
